A WORD FROM THE WRIGHT BALANCE
By Sabrina Wright, LMT MMLT
4 Elements to a Healthier Life:
I want to discuss 4 keys or elements to a healthier life. The 4 elements are food, movement, sleep and relaxation. We have a large degree of control over these and they have the most impact on our health. When people focus on doing small things in these four areas, the impact on their well-being is huge.
Here at The Wright Balance, our approach takes the pressure off people. Instead of looking for the perfect diet or the perfect workout regime, we just need to focus on small, achievable changes in each area. In this approach, not only are you feeling good in two weeks; you will still be feeling good and implementing behavior changes in two month, and two years from now!
Lifestyle change has been over-complicated. Start off by using this 4 key element framework to assess your own health. Which element do you need the most help with?
DID YOU KNOW?
More than 70 million North Americans are sleep deprived. Are you one of them? Studies show that sleep deprivation can increase a persons risk of developing obesity, diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure. CBD oil is helping me sleep my way back to better health. Behind the scenes, chronic sleep deprivation can interfere with your body’s internal systems and cause more than just the initial signs and symptoms like day fatigue, irritability etc.
Let’s look at some of the lifestyle changes to make that may impact your ability to sleep at night.
-Drink your caffeine in the morning. This can be life changing for many.
-Embrace morning light. Exposing your body to 20-30 minutes of natural light every morning will help set your circadian rhythm and help you sleep at night.
-No-Tech 90 switch off all technology 90 minutes before bed. If 90 minutes is too much, try 30 minutes and build up. There is often resistance to this, but this is one of the most impactful changes that we see in the clinic.
